Up for bid is a wonderful vintage Halloween postcard. The artist has marvelously illustrated a card with some colorful Halloween symbols. In the middle-left are two young children bobbing for apples. A black cat leans against a smiling jack 'o-lantern smoking a pipe at the right as a bat hovers above them by a crescent moon. There is a beautifully printed greeting above. Notice the owls perched on the letter H. The colors are still vivid and the artistry's just great! This antique card is part of a set of quality Halloween postcards published by Bergman in 1913 (their logo is on the back...supersize image 2 to better read it). All cards in that set feature a border consisting of illustrations of alternating jack-'o-lanterns and black cats. Give yourself a Halloween treat and supersize image 1 so you can see the exceptional detail. This beautifully embossed postcard has been postally used, and has a 1916 cancellation across the one-cent stamp on the divided back. Expected light soiling and corner bunting.  A bit of surface and edge wear.  No stains or rips. A few flecks of postal ink at the upper-left. A small, light crease at the lower-left corner. Clear image with vivid colors.  This 100 year-old paper antique presents nicely.
