6 injured, including 2 seriously, after multi-vehicle crash on H-1 East

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A multi-vehicle crash on the H-1 Freeway eastbound left six people injured, including two seriously, in the Aiea area Wednesday morning, officials said.
The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. between the Kaahumanu and Kaonohi overpasses.
HPD told HNN that four vehicles were involved, including a city bus.
Honolulu EMS said a 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Four other patients — a 65-year-old man, 55-year-old man, 55-year-old woman and 65-year-old woman — were listed in stable condition.
All entrances to the Zipperlane were temporarily closed to allow responders access to the crash, but they have since been reopened.
DOT says the Zipperlane is open to all vehicles, regardless of occupancy, until 9:30 a.m. to clear backlogs.
This comes as students return to school this week, increasing traffic volume on Oahu’s roadways.
This story will be updated as more information comes in.
